I am constantly amazed at just how creative and unique dolls are becoming from year to year. When I was a kid, my dolls were barely movable. Creative play was often a far stretch of the imagination. Nowadays, toys and dolls are just plain cool. Their hair, their clothes, they way they can be moved and repositioned - it's all so fun and fascinating.
The newest addition to the world of fashion dolls are the Mystixx Vampire dolls. Beautifully designed from head to toe, these 11 inch dolls are quite unique from other fashion dolls on the market. Are you ready for this? These dolls are half vampire and half girl! The doll has a movable head that allows you to change her from a sweet high school girl into a vampire complete with fangs with a simple turn of her head! Although that may sound creepy, these dolls are actually very pretty and according to my 5 1/2 year old "not very scary at all".
There are four Mystixx Vampire dolls to choose from - Talin, Silva, Azra and Kalani. Each of the dolls have different personalities that focus on characteristics like confidence, compassion, competitiveness and intelligence. Each doll comes with two stylish outfits, accessories, a doll hair brush and two sets of hair, making it easy to transform her look from day to night and from school girl to vampire girl! Kids are sure to have a blast using their imagination to mix and match the outfits and accessories for tons of fun looks.
Overall, my 5 1/2 year old is able to play with these fairly independently other than needing a little help changing the hair (it snaps on and off) and putting on the leggings (the rest of the clothes and accessories are easy enough for her to do herself. She really has been getting a kick out of trying to scare her brother with the bald "double head". She thinks it is absolutely hysterical when she takes off its wig. She has been having a ton of fun playing with her and letting her imagination run wild. I have a feeling she is going to be asking for another one soon so her vampire doll can "have a friend".
Vampires seem to be all the rage right now thanks to the extremely popular Twilight series! Kids who are fans of Halloween or vampires are sure to have a blast playing with these cool dolls.
Recommended for children ages 6 and up, they can be purchased exclusively at Toys ‘R’ Us® and at toysrus.com. These would make a fun addition under the Christmas tree this year.
