Camden Riversharks Game - Our Family's Experience
Last Wednesday night my family and I were invited to attend a Camden Riversharks game at Campbell's Field. It was a perfect night to enjoy a ballgame and my kids could not have been more excited to visit.
Parking was ample and reasonable at just $5. The parking attendants greeted us with huge smiles and friendly conversation as we arrived at the lot. We chose a spot just feet from the entrance and my kids were practically bouncing out of the car with excitement.
Prior to entering the stadium, we were greeted by these adorable Campbells Kids, who are just calling out for a photo op. As you can see, my kids were quick to jump up and ham it up for the camera.
This was our first time attending a Riversharks game and we could not have been more impressed. The grounds are pristine and the stadium is a comfortable size, far from overwhelming and absolutely perfect for a family outing. There are several food and vendors along the interior...with plenty of options including some of our family's favorites such as crab fries and Rita's Water Ice. No baseball game is complete without having a hot dog, so my husband was quick to order one for himself before we headed to our seats.
This particular evening was special, as it was the Riversharks "Tribute to Moms" Night. There were free chair massages for Moms and representatives on hand from sponsors Anthony Jewelers and Massage Envy, who were offering complimentary chair massages to Moms. Throughout the evening, pictures of Moms along with special messages from their families were displayed on the big screen. My sweet husband and kids included a picture of me and my children, which drew a huge cheer from my kids when it flashed on the big screen.
Our seats were amazing. We were just above the Riversharks dugout with a perfect view of the field. My son waited anxiously with glove in hand the entire game, wishing for a foul ball to call his own. Prior to and throughout the game, staff was interactive with the visitors, playing various food games where they gave away free food and other fun interactive games. Although he did not catch a game ball, he certainly hit a home run in my eyes. Much to my surprise during the third inning, my son and I were escorted along with another Mom and her son onto the field. My son had submitted a beautiful essay in their contest, "An Unforgettable Moment with My Mom". I became weak in the knees as they announced that my son Aidan's essay had been chosen as the grand prize winner. He then presented me with a beautiful diamond Necklace compliments of Anthony Jewelers. My eyes welled with tears as they asked my son if he would like to say anything into the microphone to me. His response (which instantly melted my heart nonetheless)..."I just want to say thanks for being a great Mom, Mom!" A huge "awww" sighed from the crowd as he hugged and kissed me. Really? I already thought I was the luckiest Mom in the world - but tonight just took my breath away. If you could have seen the excitement in my son's face and eyes - let's just say it is a moment I will never forget. Being their Mom truly does make me the luckiest Mom in the world.
Here is a peek at my beautiful new diamond necklace (it is just breathtaking) Thanks so much to Anthony Jewelers!!
After all of that surprise and excitement it was hard to go back to just watching the game. We couldn't help but smile and giggle more than we had been already. We decided to take a walk around the stadium. When my kids spotted the cool "Kids Fun Zone", they immediately wanted to give it a try. For $5 per child, kids can enjoy a moonbounce, slide, ball toss, a ride on the carousel and other various games. For an additional $2 fee they can also enjoy the rock climbing wall. There is a great view of the field from this area so my husband and I were able to continue to watch the game while the kids played. This area is perfect for families who bring along little children, who find it hard to sit through an entire game.
I have to say, my family absolutely loved our experience at Campbell's Field. We had so much fun that we are certain we will be heading back again this season to cheer the Riversharks on at another game.
If you have never been to the field with your family, I highly recommend checking it out. It makes for a perfect family outing. Keep a watch at my site for discounts and deals on Camden Riversharks tickets. I feature them here whenever I come across them on local deal sites.
Be sure to check out their website HERE for more FAQ's about admission, promotions, the Peanut-Free Allergy suite and more.
Remember, baseball tickets also make great Father's Day gifts!
Disclosure: My family and I were given 4 complimentary tickets to enjoy a Riversharks game. All expressed opinions are my own.
